Axed England youngster Danny Cipriani has been handed a place on the bench for Wasps’ clash with Harlequins on Sunday.

The 20-year-old returned to his club after he was dropped from the England starting lineup by Brian Ashton after being photographed coming out of a London night club around 12.30am on Wednesday.

Commenting on the inclusion of Cipriani in the replacements, Wasps director of rugby Ian McGeechan said, “Obviously we have trained all week without Danny, as he came back to us only on Friday. Dave Walder had already been told he was going to start this game, and we were not about to change that decision having made it. Danny is just pleased to be in the 22, and we are delighted to have him.”
